One thing I love and has supported my health and fitness journey is what I drink. particularly, Coffee.
I love coffee. I am a coffee enthusiast. I love coffee shops and just tasting the many different varieties of roasts. I know there aren’t many people who care about the coffee they drink and just drink coffee, but they all have their own unique taste. The world of coffee is so vast. I only started paying attention to coffee after experiencing Dark Roast vs Light Roast coffee at a Starbucks. I noticed that it had different after tastes and different intensities. Then I started seeing different styles of brewing coffee and how it impacts flavor. And then, Cold Brew as well? I know, some of you might not enjoy coffee just as much as me, but I can’t express how much I enjoy coffee.
I really started drinking coffee in college when I needed more caffeine to study, stay awake late at night, and staying awake during class. I always enjoyed regular black coffee without any cream, sugar, or flavors. At first, coffee was just coffee to me. But as I drank more, I experienced small positive changes in my health.
What can Coffee do for you?
1. Increased Energy Levels
I’m sure we all have heard of this before. For me, my experience is that I become more alert and remember things better. My focus is on-point and I experience a moment of presence. It is almost as if I am observing my self and my surroundings at a heightened speed. Almost like in the movie Limitless. I am also more grounded in my energy and clear-headed. After doing some research, coffee or caffeine allows you to live at a faster rate. As odd as that sounds, your cells are operating in a faster speed which allows you to have higher levels. Oddly, I have also experienced that when I was not drinking enough water and drank coffee, I would get tired very fast.
2. Burn More Calories
Since your cells are working in overtime, it is natural that you will burn more calories. I also produce more force when I workout and feel stronger. Which is great because its great to feel stronger.
But the term I should be used is that caffeine increases the metabolic rate, which allows you to change food into energy and use energy faster. I have experienced that coffee is great at helping me burn calories, but also suppressing my appetite so I wouldn’t get too hungry.
3. Coffee has many health benefits.
The list goes on and on…and on… from helping the liver, lower risk of strong, lower risk of cancer, lower risk of depression, etc. Coffee can help with all of this. From my experience, one thing I always enjoy is the anti-oxidants from coffee. Antioxidants help and/or stop cell damage from oxidants. What does this mean? It’s as if your cells get a defense barrier that allows them to work better and blocks the bad stuff out. The more coffee I drink, the less I get sick. As odd as that sounds, that is my experience.
This is the benefits I have seen from drinking coffee. I do know the scientific reason why coffee is good, but I thought it would be boring for you (if you are still reading, thanks!) If you are still reading, what are your thoughts? Do you like coffee? How do you coffee?
